IKE was horrible for me. I lived in Galveston at the time. I do not want to do that again. Way to many of my family and friends lost everything. I can handle this rain.

I finally got a letter today. With all the talk about troublemakers I was a little worried about how everything was going for him. He is one of the younger guys fresh out of high school and has always been a little headstrong, but he is also use to discipline. He is a Black Belt in Taekwondo and he competed nationally in inline speed skating for several years as well.He said he scored a 4.7 on test one and a 5.0 on the inspection. I am so proud of him! (sorry for the bragging but you Moms know how that is) His letter was really upbeat and he is doing great! He said they have been very busy and that is one of the reasons for no phone calls. He was also sick and had to be put on antibiotics for a sinus infection but said it was no big deal. He said the RDC's are always yelling but it's not too bad once you get used to it. I am just so Happy!! he is doing so well and he feels good about his decision to join. What a big difference from that first phone call. You ladies were right (my husband too) it just takes some time to adjust.

Not too windy! Just rainy and thunder... I think it's going to slow down tonight though. I'm just glad it's not a real hurricane! We did IKE two years ago and had no power for like 4 days! yuck!

JANE... I'm so happy for him and you!! :) I hope my daughter gets to write more often soon!!

LTLY it's been HORRIBLE here in Houston all day, tornadoe watches and flood watches.... We need the rain but not buckets at a time! LOL
Comment by LTLY on September 7, 2010 at 6:31pm
Well we were dodging tornadoes from tropical storm Hermine...nothing touched down yet, but my MIL (CLS on N4M) spotted the funnel over the house, so we high tailed it to her house!! It will be a long evening of watching the sky. (Secret is I REALLY REALLY want to chase Tornadoes, but I really shouldn't throw the kids in the car and make them tag along...I think that is called child endangerment.)
