Jane, We all are here to help each other...and some of us, like Jessica, SOBE, and I (who have all been through bootcamp with our sailors) like to drop back to PIR groups and help when we can! I have noticed more and more "veteran" moms now on these sites...many who just had sailors graduate. It is so rewarding to see that! And soon you will be one too and can do the same thing! Many go on the "boot camp site" where there are always alot of newbies and lots of questions. We are happy to help when we can! Thanks for the compliment!

LTLY: Just a suggestion, but you may want to display the BStations date like this:
EXAMPLE:
Mon, 9/7 Div 304, 305

I notice that some groups aren't putting the day of the week in there and they are listing division first....just seems easier to read with day/date first and then division. Just a suggestion!

Yes, Jessica. Normally 900 divisions go on Monday, except when there is Thurs PIR (like last week). Then they go on Sunday. They go early on so that they can practice for PIR, etc, is my guess.

LTLY: On BStations, Just remember that brother divisions go together. 323+324, 325+326, 327+328, 329+330. So if someone posts the date for one division, you can include the brother division on that date. Now sometimes 2 divisions go a night, sometimes 2 divisions plus the 800 division, sometimes 2 divisions plus the 900 division, sometimes the 900 goes alone---but they usually go on Monday night, sometimes 4 divisions (2 sets of brother divisions). You can go back and look at the schedules on previous PIR groups.

Jane I used a wheelchair for my Mom, because our PIR group was so large the handicap section was about 16 people wide in front of each division and 3 deep. Diannep is correct in that a sailor will get the chair for you, but because our group was so large I had to push my Mom in and was directed where to go. They are bleachers with no backs and I also had to talk my Mom into using a wheelchair because she can't walk very far with her walker. Boy am I glad that I was able to talk her into it, because she would not have been able to walk that far to and from the hall and sit without a back for that long.

Make sure you allow enough time for traffic!!! on the day of PIR it is CRAZY. It took us almost 90 minutes to drive from our hotel which was only 10 miles away! Make sure to have your gate pass and drivers license ready for the guys at the gate. After PIR day the traffic was not bad at all. I am glad we drove our rental car to PIR because my daughter wanted to introduce me to all of her new friends.

If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to send me a message.

Also the other word of advice would be if you are renting a car, bring lots of quarters and change for the toll roads. Many are not manned and you just throw the money in the machine. Most ranged from .50 to .90 but will catch you off guard if you are not ready for it.

Jane, it is about 1/2 mile walk from the front gate to the PIR Hall (all sidewalk). If you go in and park, it is a little closer. The seating in the Hall is bleachers...they have wheelchairs there around the base, manned by sailors, if he finally will concede to use one. If you get there really early, you may be able to grab a seat on the bottom of the bleachers. The front gate opens at 6:30. Hope this helps!

Hi Everyone, my daughters PIR was this past Thursday 9/2. Get ready for the most wonderful experience of your life!!! Thought I would pass along that I stayed at the Hawthorn Suites in Wadsworth. Had a king bed, TV, bathroom with its own door, when you walk in you have a couch, another TV, kitchenette area with fridge and Microwave, sink area with a pull out sofabed and a nice size table. They also have free hot buffet breakfast every morning all for 79.00 a night when you mention the graduation rate!
