HI everyone, I just wanted to share one point of my experience at PIR, my son graduated this last weekend on 9/02. He left on 7/06 and when he called me about 6 days later (not the norm but he needed some information for security clearance) he told me his orders said he was leaving for Pensacola on Sat the 4th, fast forward to the "I'm a Sailor call", he stated he was leaving late on the night of graduation, Thursday the 2nd. My travel plans were already made and I planned to stay until Sunday the 5th. Although, I was disappointed, I was thankful for any time with him and I was going to make the best of it. When liberty was called and I found my son, he told me he was not leaving until Saturday the 4th. I am pointing this out because there are norms, but be ready for anything.
Another very important reminder: Make sure you have everything you need from your car before you enter the Hall. My friend left my camera in the car and once I entered the hall, they would not allow me to go back and get it. There was a man needing to go back to get his mother's glasses and he was also not allowed to go back, no exceptions, understandably so for security reasons.

Not sure about the WiFi at Navy Lodge but I hear they are filling up, might be full now so hurry with your reservations. I would recommend anyone who hasn't made their hotel arrangements to do so now. Remember that N4M's only represent a fraction of how many people will be attending PIR. And unless you book a package deal you won't pay for the hotel until day of check in.

@TiffsMom- funny about the Ex...LOL. But I bet you will be so wrapped up in getting to PIR that you won't notice him at all.

The wi-fi costs per day, less than 10.00/day... no shuttle to PIR but I hear it's a great hotel. I have reservations there and at Comfort Inn, have not decided which one I'm going to, hoping the EX isn't at either one! LOL

I have the weather widget on my phone LOL Tiff put it on there. My husband has been working all weekend to get a weather thingie on his Ubantu (sp) new computer, his new computer has running red lights and keeps him busy and gives me time to come here! :)

Yeah, I did see that TiffsMom, I will look into it and see what I can figure out. I have been trying to get a weather widget w/ GL current conditions on it...for some reason it won't load. Didn't have a problem with the music player, idk. Anyhow, I will look at the instant chat box.

LTLY... thanks, I know somehow they all end up the same just not sure how/when :) I saw on either the Texas Moms or Moms of Daughters that her child only called three times... the I'm here... once during bc and the I'm a Sailor :( I sure hope and pray that our kids/hubbies get more calls. Did you see the little chat box that the other groups are putting on their pir thingies (this thingie we talk to each other, whatever it's called) I don't know if you know how to do that or want to, just thought it looked neat!

@TiffsMom
I think everyone with the same PIR date will eventually catch up to eachother give or take a day. My SR left Aug. 3rd, but had to wait until they filled the division before they finished processing week. I think by now they should all be pretty close to eachother, like I said, give or take a day or two.
