Oh, oh. We made reservations at the Ramada Inn and from reading the comments I'm wondering if that was a good choice. We liked that it had a free shuttle to graduation and based on the pictures on their website looked nice.

sailorjay: You are staying at a wonderful hotel...we loved it. Be sure to sign up on the shuttle list when you check in. The first one was 6:30 when we went. We were in the bleachers by 7.

i booked in residence hotel. they have a kitchen and seating area. Both Navy4moms and my boss(ex navy dr.) said residence was worth it. also, I called and they have a verygood PRI booklet of what to do and shuttle is $3 and will leave by 6:30a.
As far as M&G, my flight will not get in till 8pm ish and i still have to drive up there. I wish I could meet everyone but my the time i get there it will be late.
Got a 1st real letter from my son, : he's says division 329 "rocks" and this is from a shy kid. I am more proud of him each day. Hey, I can actually read his handwriting/printing for the first time. Navy Rocks.

hooYAH, ladies! Now....back to your soon-to-be SAILORS!

Suzanne: Sorry, I have to butt in here on the M&G stuff. Remember the intention of the M&G. It is not a substitute for dinner, nor a place to promote N4M's. It is just a place for all of those attending PIR to briefly meet one another...and yes, of course, to buy at their bar if anyone desires. Nothing wrong with that....no one is forced to buy a drink there. Many have told me that they stopped into the M&G, met some Moms, and then headed off to their own dinner, then early to bed, getting ready for PIR. Remember, this trip is focused on PIR. For everyone! I see panic instilled in alot of the ladies (I have been personal messaged over the past few weeks by many) when you all post this.
Suffice it to say...the Ramada is not in a real great area, but no moms have complained to me about worrrying about their saftey at the M&G. No one should be expecting a "free meal" there. In fact, I say...why should they provide ANY food? I think providing the space alone....for free....is a good thing. Yes, they are hoping that you buy drinks, stay for dinner, etc. They are a business after all. And, yes, you are correct...the Navy endorses no one hotel. By the way, a hotel GM who is a mom in the 8/27 group has spoken with the GM at the Ramada. He has offered them a banquet room to talk in if there is one available that night...for free. I spoke with the lady who handled the 8/6 M&G...she said it went fine, but she had spoken with the GM prior to that and let him know what they needed (n the realm of "free", something to keep in mind here).

Suzanne, I'm sorry that your experience was so bad there. I hope that PIR day made up for that. I want all of these ladies to focus on PIR. I still say....go to the Ramada M&G...and then if some of you Moms and families want to go to a place afterwards as a group to continue talking, so be it. Personally, my older son and I beat from traveling and hit the sack early, so we could be up early for PIR and seated in the bleachers by 7 a.m. Please...let's keep this all in perspective here. We are there for OUR SAILORS!

Courtyard Inn, Springhill Suites, and Residence Inn....all Marriotts...are very close together in an area with Walmart and many restaurants. I would recommend any of them! We stayed at Residence....LOVED it. $3/pp shuttle to PIR from each of them.

Happy Sunday Ya'll~
Based on what I have read about the Ramada's M&G, I think we can find a place more enjoyable for our N4M M&G. I aslo think it might be less confusing if we have one person trying to coordinate this...soooo, any volunteers for handling the details of our M&G for Thursday 9/30/10? We need a go to person if we have questions, comments, or ideas. Once we have a volunteer we can set up an ongoing discussion that will keep us all informed.

Yay!! Our countdown clock is in the 30's!!

Also, FYI, don't be impressed by the Ramada's offer of free hot appetizers for your M&G. I had two teenagers with me who are big eaters and they refused to eat a bite there, it looked so unappetizing (and was pretty limited). I did try the appetizers, and they weren't good. My kids were begging to get out of there.

Sondra, I was not inside the Red Carpet, but I was not impressed with driving by....
