Sam called, too! We were having church at my house today. I got up fixed french toast for 20, sausage and all the fixins. As pple arrived I got a call from Sam. Ernie talked first, then his brother and I did for the next 35 min. Oh well church family. I let Ernie take care of the entertaining. I'd rather talk to Sam than eat. I was very disappointed to hear that he, too is grad "N go. I don't get much time with him. Oh well that will have to wait until San Diego. Any others doing STG? I was so thrilled to hear from him. He sounded so much better today than last week .Sam was also surprised I knew so much about what is going on. LTLY what is RPOC?Why is he no longer that.? What's up with tomorrow being week 1 day 1? How will they finish by 10/1.? They know what's going on, not I.

I can BREATHE!!! :)

I also got a phone call from my husband today!!! What a nice way to start the week! At first when I asked how long his phone call was he told me 10 minutes so I tried to get everything out in the first ten minutes and then he realized "wait....they just told me 35 minutes" Oh I was so excited. LTLY I had mentioned your husband to him by saying his age and he knew exactly who I was talking about. :) He was surprised to hear that I knew as much as I did about what was going on and how things worked there. He told me that he is a grad n' go so will only be able to spend graduation day with the kids and I and he flies out the next morning.

I'm glad to see all the info since my son has not called me. I guess he thought we would be in church but he doesn't know that I was out of town and would have gotten the call. Better luck next time.

Yes indeed, what a great Sunday! Just talked to my son for 45 mins, he sounds great still. He said today is the last day of P-week for them and tomorrow starts the first week of PT. He hadn't received any of the letters I've written either. He said they were allowed a call today because they've done so well over the past several days with their drills. They're in their camouflage uniforms now instead of sweats so they don't feel like fresh meat anymore...there are other newer divisions now....lol He said it may be a couple of weeks before they're allowed another call....can't wait!

What a great Sunday! Phone calls from Ship 6 Div 946!!! Although my husband is no longer RPOC, I am so proud of him! Congrats to the recruit that got the job!
So our guys are starting week one tomorrow. This surprised me a bit since he has been gone 12 days. He hasn't had any set backs though? Hmmm...
Also, I have written 6 letters, one for every day I have had his address. He said others are recieving mail but he is not, why could this be?

Thanks guys, I guess I will wait tillI I come back, I hope I will still be able to get one, I'm not sure how fast they fill up. I see the Ramada holds the meet and greet, would that be a good choice? Welll whatever is decided I know we will have a great time.I saw in an earlier post that all the parents sit in the group with their DIV, so I know at some point I will hopefully have the opportunity to meet some of you. I'm sure I will recognize your faces from your photos. I have yet to do put a photo up, not sure if I will do that or not. ( I'll just wear a huge name tag that says pamom!!!
Take care everyone , talk to you in a week!

Wow, just realized I said the same thing twice in that comment!! I'll blame it on a very late night last night. We had a wedding and didn't get home till wee hrs of the morning.!!!

Hi everyone, hope your wekends are going well. Just wondering if anyone has gotten their hotel reservations and where they are staying. Would be nice to be able to have a group of us together.
I really enjoy all the chatting that goes on here. It does make you feel better to have someone in the same shoes as you going through the same things. Although I am not a huge talker, I still love coming on this site. I feel drawn to checking it throuhgout the day to see what's new. Thanks to WWBecky and Sharon for keeping me laughing. I hope we have the chance to meet at somepoint during PIR weekend. I am leaving on vacation this afternoon, and since we are camping I won't have access to a computer ( going to go crazy!!) so I won't be on for awhile, I hope that when I get back, you haven't all forgotten who Pamom is!!
Has anyone made their hotel reservations yet, I would love to be able to meet everyone. and it would be especially nice to meet some of the moms/wives with sons/husbands in DIV 821.
I'll check back here before I leave to see about any hotel choices. Take care everyone!!

.
