Good Afternoon All. I do not have a recruit in this group and I am also not a stalker...lol. I have a sailor who recently graduated boot camp and just wanted to offer assistance/advice if needed. The veteran moms on this site are fabulous and I have nowhere near the knowledge they have, but the experience is fresh in my mind and I just wanted to help. So, if anyone has questions or just wants to vent --- go right ahead!

where is the RTC website?

Hi! Your best source of info on PIR is on the RTC website. Go there click on the family link and then on graduation. Search for your sons division and it will tell you the PIR date. From what I understand, once it is posted it will not change.

One very wise seasoned N4M mom told me that the best source for ALL info is your recruit. When I write to my husband I ask very specific questions, only a few at a time. It seems to help me get the information. :) Also, keep in mind for those of you who have loved ones in the 800 divisions they have a different experience because they are spec ops. They are held to an extremely high standard. Do not get discouraged if you are not receiving letters or calls as frequently, they are VERY busy.
I just don't want you to stress as much as I did. :) I hope this helps!

Just got my son's letter and he is in ship 4, div 821. Any body else have a recruit in this ship & division? Also, my son's letter said graduation date is 10/3/10. That is a Sunday and as far as I have read here, that is just not done.

Never mind Jess, I found it. Off to a new group! Good luck everyone!

Thanks Jessica. How do I get to the RTC site?
Comment by Kelly on August 10, 2010 at 4:24pm
Yeah, my son's recruiter called me also with the info. I hope it is not 3 weeks until I get the letter!! I will keep on checking the RTC site. Thanks.

Hi Kelly, I actually did not receive my husbands form letter until 3 weeks into boot camp. That probably will not happen to you. My husbands recruiter called me with his address, ship and division. He is spec ops also, as are all the 800 divisions. I just kept checking the RTC website until they posted his division and their graduation date. That is how I found out.
