Hello Ladies! I have joined this group because it was mentioned to me that some of you may have some questions or concerns about children at PIR and also how the process is going for us while Daddy is gone...My husband is in week 4 "hell week" . We have 2 children a 4 year old and an 13 month old. I am happy to answer any questions you may have or point you in a direction to get the answers if I don't have them. Let me know if I can help...

Well folks, I goofed up. The "body snatchers" are not from the 800 divisions, they are the "non-performing" recruits of the 900 division. The non-performing 900 recruits also provide behind-the-scenes staff such as door openers on the quarterdeck; helping with refreshments at the post-reception for the Honor Grads/Award Winners; and rail guards in the bleachers (they're the ones instructed to keep guests from against the railing during the ceremony).

I had received wrong info and shared it without checking first (okay, I'm old, please forgive me!). Thank goodness for this awesome lady at RTC who nicely corrected me.

Morning Everyone. My name is Maureen ( as you can see my my name there lol), I have a son in BC and he will graduate on Sept 10th. We are half way there now. LTLY, thank you for starting this PIR group. It will become your lifeline for the next weeks !! If I may suggest, putting a countdown clock up on this page, its really a motivator to see how many days until graduation. Wanted to be a part of your group and tell you that along with Sobe and Jessica, I would be glad to help you all along the way as well. Sobe and Jessica are wonderful, as they have helped so many PIR groups. Im STILL learning a lot, cause I never knew you could buy dixie cup hats at graduation, nor the info on what Div 800 did during graduation !!
Feel free to ask anything. No question is silly. We've all been there. You have entered the Roller Coaster ride of emotions, and what a ride it can be but keep your eyes on the prize...graduation on 10/1/10. Have a great day all.
Have a great Tuesday Pictures, Images and Photos

The music at PIR is VERY loud, drums, trumpets, etc. I would bring ear plugs for your little ones, it could hurt your baby (or worse, wake her up!). Bring quiet, soft toys for them to play with. They can run around until about 8:45, then they will need to stay put, but you can walk around still or stand near entrance to bathrooms. There are two very large motion picture screens so you'll still be able to see the graduation. (the hall is huge!). Oh..... and bring $5 bucks to buy you 4 yr old a dixie cup (Sailors hat, or Lid as the sailors call it). They are NOT ever allowed to try on or wear any part of a military uniform, so they sell these hats to help prevent that and kids love it (it's their size too). They sell them near the coffee stand inside the hall, but they go quickly, so find your seat, then go get a hat before they are gone!

Cool little fact there Sobe, I had no idea! Any advice on keeping an infant quiet during PIR? I can only feed her so much and I am worried she will interrupt.
My 4 yr old will be awestruck! He has been watching youtube w me and thinks it is "totally awesome"...not too worried about controlling him!
