So sorry you did not get your letter today suwil68. I know exactly how you are feeling. I think we all do. Yesterday was soooo depressing. I wanted a letter. I stayed up till 3am this morning bummed that I still have not heard anything. They will come though. Hang in there. Hugs for all those who still have not received letters.

Vincents mom.
Thank you.

Yes my son is very out going. He is a hoot. But right now is not the time for his wonderful sense of humor. But so thankful they have not squashed it out of him.

Foaling lady....So glad you got letters too.
Is there anyway he can cancel that policy?
I know I would be finding that out real quick. He has no need for that. Shame on who ever scammed him.

I'm so happy for both of you Rebecca and foaling-lady! Rebecca, my son also attended Church which, you are right. You try to get them to go at home then they join the military and go to Church there. Hey but, at least they are goint.
Foaling-lady I'd be mad too. An 18 year old does not need life insurance. He needs to save his money! That's just wrong. Anyway, just enjoy that you received the letters and they are doing well! Have a wonderful day!!!

YAY!! So happy for those that got letters today!! Here's to hoping the rest of you get them tomorrow!!

Rebecca, the potty news is hilarious. I have been thinking about my son; before he left for boot camp he told me recruits are not allowed to drink coffee, and without coffee in the morning, well, you know, the bathroom's just not the same for a guy.
Got my first letter today, he left on Aug. 23 ... hope he's been getting my letters (one or even two a day!), he didn't mention it. Said he was sick as a dog, but I don't know if that means still, or was.
Also, I posted this on Ship 12/Div347, but sharing it with you all ... I am MIFFED that somebody talked my son (18, unmarried, no dependants) into buying military life insurance, $28/month translates to $2016 over his 6 year enlistment, should put that money into an IRA instead and have it work for him; parents don't need beneficiary life insurance payout!! But he could sure use an IRA down the road!! It would be different if he were married ... really burns me!! It's a scare tactic dumped on naive young people!! Every financial advisor you'll ever meet will tell you, young single people do not need life insurance!!

Yahooooo Rebecca.....I am so happy you received 3 letters : ) I know it must be tough on the boy's sharing so much of their personal space with so many. I'm just glad you know he is doing fine. Sounds like you have a very outgoing young man.
