No letter here yet either. I think it's a thing with the boys.

Good morning everyone! Unfortunately I had to work today so I thought I'd just pop in to say hi! No letters yet. This is most frustrating. I hope we start getting some letters soon! It feels like almost 3 years instead of almost 3 weeks. Hope everyone is having a decent weekend. One more day closer to PIR! Hugs to all!

I have read many bad things about the Ramada, I will try to copy and paste them when I get a minute. I have to backtrack where I read them. I believe I read something yesterday ona recent N4M post about a PIR group in August. Complained of broken glass all over parking lot, Dirty, older motel. Just a feeling from travelling I like to generally stay where no complaints have been registered. You can google Ramada Inn Waukegan and there is a post or two on trip advisor. Not trying to sway anyone, just don't want anyone to be disappointed.

There doesn't seem to be many recruits on ship 12 Div. 342. There has to be more than the three people I know in that division!

So sorry Stevie....The letters will get better in time but glad you got a letter.

Made my reservations today. They told me the other day I had to wait till Sept 15 but I call about an hour ago and the lady let me make them. We are staying at the Navy Gateway. Now I just got to buy my plane tickets and get a rental car.
I hope to hear something from my baby soon. I love the voicemail and letters he left for me the night before he left but I really want to know how he is doing since he got to GL.

LoveUDrew - From what I understand there is no schedule for calls. It's totally random. I have a friend who's twins are there now and graduating in Sept. They actually missed the first two calls the boys made! She felt a little bad but she said the one nice thing was they left messages so they could play them over for themselves and other family. I know I keep my phone on vibrate and close by at work all day for fear I'll miss a call. It's funny how important the calls and letters become and it's only been two weeks. Imagine how tough it is for the families of those who are deployed and possibly in harm's way! We know were our kids are at, they're being taken care of very well and we WILL see them very soon. I can be patient while I wait to hear from him. And on the plus side - they're aquiring a whole new appreciation for home and mom! I'm sure they're happier than they expected to be to hear from us and will be very happy to see our faces :)
