FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Sorry Dillon's mom... I meant I am happy that my son is now a sailor, even if me and his dad can't make it to PIR tomorrow.(Soooo upset about it.....)
but, Wow, my med's must really be clouding my brain. I can't seem to express my thoughts clearly right now, LOL...
BUT I will be watching for your 10/29 PIR. Good luck to you. Your son will be just fine....BTW, I luuuuv that pic of you two! Great Pic!

Stevie...I am so happy that you got to talk to her for a good long time! I bet your heart just melted in the first word she spoke.
Found out my Drew is doing A School at Great Lakes, so we will go see him there at a later date..Good luck and Congrats to everyone.

Proud mama i dont know what time zone you are in but the calls usually happen after 2pm central time - I hope you dont miss your call but at least you are on your way! Enjoy it all and remember lots of pics!!!!!

No problem winniesam...and thank you. My fault for not being clearer....Pictures would be soooo great! He said he will be doing rifles and a solo at the end...which, since he will be performing it makes it so much more heartbreaking to not be able to be there.
But hey...I am still pulling for those in Battlestations today, and to all of you who will be there for PIR, HAVE A GREAT TIME! your new Sailor....
I think we will all probably still "see" each other on NFM to keep up with progress. My candle is still lit for 345, 346, 347 & 348. Good Luck to everyone...

ive been up all night not able to sleep, so patiently waitin for the phone call i fly out to illinois today at 2:20 so i think im going to miss my phone call
