OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Betty:  Not sure if they sell those at RTC...

.I looked on Craig's Ebay site:  ww.pirgifts.com

Didn't see Ship 6, but you can message him through that site and ask if he will have one for Ship 6.

I have been searching for a challenge coin to buy my SR but I can't find one for Ship 6 USS Constitution. Do any of the admins know if we will be able to purchase one at PIR for their specific ship?

This PIR group will see their new sailors in their Dress Blues.  The GL sailors change from their Dress Whites to their Dress Blues on Oct 5th, so all PIR groups after that will have on the Dress Blues until they change back to the Dress Whites next Spring!

Yes, Lights out is at 9, except on the day they finish BattleStations (12 hr overnight drill)....they have lights out an hour earlier than night....and are very ready for that after having been up since early the morning before!

There very well may be more calls this afternoon from other divisions...not 345/346 who called yesterday.  The calls would not start before 1 pm Central time though....they can attend church this morning and have some free time....so keep those phones close this afternoon just in case!

Good Morning!

Hi candy2 I am hoping & praying that you get that call also... I only got to talk to my SR for about 3 mins but it was the best 3 mins of my life. Just knowing that he is okay & loving it puts my mind & my heart at ease. I slept better than I have in the past 3 1/2 weeks! Lol. One day closer ;-)
