N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Last year, they did BattleStations the night of Columbus Day.  Doesn't mean for sure they will do that again this year though.

navymom888:  I had a date in mind for your division, but need to wait to hear back from ladies in the divisions I listed below for their date.  They go before your division will go.  The holiday next week may change the way they normally go through BattleStations.

Comment by diannep on October 6, 2014 at 6:56am

Attention ladies in 325-328.  If any of you have received BattleStations dates from your SRs, can you friend request of message your division and the date to me?  There is a bit of a discrepancy on the day they will start BattleStations for this group since Mon, the 13th, is a federal holiday.  Sometimes they run BattleStations on the night of a federal holiday, and sometimes they do not.  If they do not plan to run them next Monday night, then it is possible the they will start them Wed night this week rather than Thurs night.  Please let me know the info you have!  Thanks!

Good Morning!

diannep,

Can you confirm division 330 battle station date ? My SR stated a date in the letter but I want to make sure.

Proud2babbysmom,

I was just wondering the same thing since this past weekend temps dropped 30 degrees here so I'm sure its cold in Great Lakes. I was thinking of sending one to school to for extra warmth and comfort..always nice to have your own blanket, pillow etc..

Comment by Manchu on October 5, 2014 at 9:43pm

Thanks Diannep; glad I checked cause that's not the date I thought. I will be at work so good to know cause I don't always have my phone out but I will for sure that day!

Thank you Diannep....I will bring it, we are driving :)

Manchu:  Just sent the info in a friend request so don't hit ACCEPT or the info goes away.

proud2babbysmom:  Is she staying in GL for A School?  If so, I would think it won't be a problem to take that back with her to base after Liberty.  Take it with you to GL and she can check with them when she moves over there shortly after PIR.

If flying out, you will have to ship it to her at A School.

Comment by proud2babbysmom on October 5, 2014 at 9:08pm
Heard from SR today, she sounds in good spiruts. Starting to plan for what happens after graduation.....she wanted me to ask if she is allowed to bring her own comforter for A school in GL? she said the nights are cold. I told her to ask someone there but she said she has to keep her questions to herself or she gets yelled at.
