N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I can't wait to get a letter from my son!!!  I am so excited for October 23rd to come I can hardly stay focused in my everyday life.  All I can think about is my son and what he is doing in his training day to day.  I have watched all the videos and read a lot.  Just so excited!!!

43 days until we see our sailors!!!!!

Hang in there!!!!  We are Navy strong!!!

sandihas5,

It's normal for the SRs to be feeling homesick in the beginning and maybe even questioning their decision to join the Navy because there are so many changes and personalities they are encountering.  Then something clicks and the see their purpose and future with the Navy!  He's going to be fine!!  Just tend to the rest of your family and rely on what you have instilled in your SR to get him through his Boot Camp training~~  ((HUGS))

Can any "veteran" mom and dads calm my nerves.  Since our son called on Friday we were told by the RTC person that they would call if something changed with our son.  I am hoping that he is just homesick and this week is better and that he is adjusting.  Has anyone else been there before?  Now, not receiving his letter.......AHHHHH!

The number of guests allowed per SR is dependent on how many divisions are in a PIR group. Once RTC posts that, we will know. Right now, looks like there are 9 divisions in this group, so looking good so far! 12 divisions or less allow for 4 guests....13 divisions or more limit to 3 guests.
