Thank you Diannep and Lala for all your help.
NavyWitchy, I would still take her. We can't be positive but I bet they will let her in. My husband couldn't go and I took my dad instead and when we checked in they took my husbands name and marked it out and put my dads name in his place. I know things are changing but with there not being 4 people going I can't imagine them not letting her in. I have you all in my thoughts and prayers and I really hope all the extras who go are able to get in.
NavyWitchy: I hope that she goes. Since you are under your 4 on the list anyway, hopefully she can get in with proper ID. I'm hoping that more will call the PAO 847-688-2405 today and check out this new info.
Safe travel for those leaving today!
There are 3 on my sons list and one of them cannot make it. My mother is going with us instead. Does this mean that she will not be allowed?
A little late, but I also have a sailor as of today :) Congrats to all the new sailor families!
Congrats to all the new Sailors, Bravo Zulu
I must say, I am very sad that they may no longer let any extra guests into PIR. We took 4 extras with us with 13 divisions graduating and everyone there was so nice and helpful and very accommodating. I just can't imagine them turning away family members who are there. If they are making this change I am sure they have their reasons. But if you are in driving distance why not take them and at least let them spend time with your Sailor after PIR? Same thing goes for those who have already bought and paid for flights and reserved hotel rooms. I know I would rather take the chance that they may or may not get in than to get there and find out the extras did get in but I had left mine at home. Maybe I am not looking at it the way I should. I know my Sailor would have still wanted me to bring her grandfather even if he couldn't be at the ceremony. He was going through radiation treatments for prostate cancer and finished that right after she left for bootcamp and he went with me to surprise her because he knew how worried she was about him and I wish you could have seen her face when she saw her papa there <3 We knew when we left to dive 16 hours that he may not get in but it was a chance we were willing to take.

frasermom: this was the word from some ladies who called today. Maybe you can call and ask tomorrow...and hope they changed their minds! Horrible that extras can't come...and hoping that they reverse that. Just hoping!
Congratulations everyone!
