PRAYERS FOR BRETT AND HIS FAMILY<3 GET WELL SOON!
ProudMom: No worries...he'll pass...and for the few who don't, they go through again and pass.
Update on our sailor friend Brett: Out of surgery at about 1 a.m. Bullet went under ribcage and hit aorta...sigh...massive bleeding...couldn't retrieve bullet...will do later. Transfusion. Next 11 or so hours are critical to his survival. Dr said had he been older and not so fit, he would have died. He is in phenomenal shape. Personal trainer in addition to Navy job. Thanks so much for the prayers, ladies!
I told his mom that I had asked for prayers on 7 N4Moms groups....she was so happy and grateful
..and, Good Morning!
Diane- thoughts with you and Brett today.
Woke up from a nightmare at 3am that my SR called and didn't pass BS. It's going to be a long couple of days. I think this is on my mind more than I want to admit.
diannep,
Brett and his family and friends will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Prayers coming your way diannep and his families. You know it's so sad that our loved ones are at risk in being in Harms Way everyday in the Military and we worry for them so much and they make it through all kinds of obstacles & then something so horrible and probably senseless like this happens not even involving the dangers they face daily. (((Hugs)))
Ladies, please pray for our friend Brett, a sailor of almost 4 years and the son of a great lifelong friend of mine...he is the one who influenced my son to join the Navy. He was shot tonight in Jacksonville FL when trying to intervene in an attempted mugging....he is in phenomenal shape (33 yrs old) so hoping that will help him...in fact, had just finished teaching a bootcamp class. Shot in the stomach, in surgery now. Family is on the road to get up to be with him....prayers please. Thanks!
GFTatter: My son was asmoed when there. Like CeeJay said, it can be for medical, academic/physical fitness failure, disciplinary, etc....They are removed from their division and then put back into another PIR group when training starts again.
I know the disappointment that those SRs are feeling, but they will get there...just will take longer now. Hope the families had booked on Southwest so that there is no change fee for their tickets..... sigh....
Thank you! My daughter said 2 SR's got ASMO'd back 2 weeks! From 345 and 346 for discipline. There will be some very disappointed parents out there. 12 others were almost sent with them but the group voted to let them stay with extra PT. My SR was one of the 12. Oh dear.
There's this too, GFTatter. . .
Recruits are given lots of encouragement and extra help to be able to pass the PFA. If a recruit is having difficulty, someone will often run with the recruit to help set the pace. If a recruit does not pass, he or she may be given another chance, or may be set back, or "ASMO'd". In the very worst case, scenario, they are sent to the FIT division, and given several chances to meet the standards.
