Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME TO PIR 10/26/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Comment by CeeJay45 on October 17, 2012 at 9:20pm: For GFTatter: ASMO - Assignment Memorandum - to be sent back in recruit training. RDC's frequently threaten their Division with being ASMO'd. Recruits do get ASMO'd for disciplinary or medical, or because a recruit has not passed a test.

Comment by USS Tennessee-Gold Crew-Mom on October 17, 2012 at 7:58pm: PR Mami I have not received any phone calls from a PI but my SR has told me that it will be coming. He called and asked me for phone numbers and addresses to his job and friends. Im nervous about the interigation by the PI.

Missingmygiant I was able to see pictures of my SR on the 900 Division facebook page and on the U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command Facebook page. They have random photos of recruits along with photos of the PIR's. My SR is an Honor Guard and preformed at last weeks PIR and will preform at this weeks and his own next week.

My son's birthday is this Sunday, the 21st. I told him his birthday present was "Sunday Holiday Routine". (I'm nice. LOL) It actually surprised me how many SRs have had birthdays during BC.

I feel positive that your SR will make it, but we will continue to think positive thoughts for all of them! It's so easy to let the worries take over, but they are all in God's hands and we just have to trust him.
