OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hang in there, Italian Mom! We'll pray for your son. Cutting 10 seconds is definitely do-able. Remember that he's not alone out there. He'll be working closely with the RDC and APO to make his time. They'll take care of him & we'll take care of you. Keep the faith!

Sending positive energy and prayers for your son and for you Italian Mom!!! This process is not easy, and I can only imagine how nervous you are upon reading that letter. Try to think positive; I know that's easier said than done. But hopefully you will gain some comfort from the women in this group.  We are here for you!

Lala Ribbon Queen,

Thank you.  I left that option with my SR in case someone didn't have family to leave the base with.  That was so thoughtful of you to take someone :-)

Italian Mom,  Prayers to your son..I think several of us have had to deal with the PFA test.  Several of our recruits are going down to the wire to pass it.  My son was having problems with the sit-ups and said they were told if didn't pass it during the test they would be in a FIT group where they could work on it daily till they did pass.  No mention of being set back or "asmosed" as they call it I think.  So hopefully the dude was just trying to scare him.  Hope he does well and we see all of us at PIR 10/26

As far as I could tell it was DIV's 343, 345, 351, 352, 356 & 951.  All around us:(

The Sailors are allowed to ride the shuttle and I think most of them let the Sailors ride for free with their families. And unless something has changed A Sailor with no family there can leave with another family. We took one of my daughters friends with us for the day :-)

Comment by Rhonda-S12D347 on October 16, 2012 at 5:34pm

Are the "new sailors" able to ride back on the shuttle to the motel with their family(or do we need to bring a car)?  Also, are "new sailors" allowed to leave the base with another family if they didn't have anyone come for their graduation?

Praying for your son italian mom.  In the meantime, since this news was received by letter, go on the NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS theory since you have not received a call since he wrote that with any more bad news!
