KatyM so happy for you that you got a letter and it sounds like it had some great information! I got one today also. Made my day!
Got my letter today! He sounds upbeat and excited to tell us about the gun he got to fire and his marksman level. He found out that he does get liberty until 9 pm when we are there. He said, "I want to go into Chicago!" He said they are currently in week 5 (that's what I thought) and its firefighting week. It was a short letter but sounded like he's passing all of his tests and things were getting easier.
KatyM - I'm glad your daughter is detail oriented and gave a description of a typical day. I never get details from my son ever....even when he was at home!
Hi ladies, we finally received our first two letter today!!!!- (Six weeks after she left for BC.) They were dated September 24th so they sure took a long time to get to California. She is doing well and there is not much information to share with the exception of her typical day and some new Navy terms (lingo) that she needs to learn. I am sharing these since I know some mom’s may not have received a letter yet. Typical Schedule: 0500 Reveille/Morning Routine; 0530 12-Minute Sustained Run; 0545 Special Programs PT (Freedom Hall); 0720 Breakfast; 0830 Recruit hygiene; 1100 lunch; 1230 Basic Seamanship Class; 1740 Dinner; 1830 RDC Training Time; 2015 Academic Study; 2100 Evening routine; 2155 Tatoo/Taps. TOD= Term of the day; Deep six= to dispose of by throwing over the side; ROD=rate of the day. My daughter graduates in 2 weeks , and I feel much better now that I have heard from her. To all the moms who are on this site and have reached out to provide support to me when I was without letters or calls, I want to say THANKS SOOO MUCH!
Good morning! My daughter is not talking about flags at all do I don't know how 346 is doing. She is doing well personally and got marksman with the pistol. Only a few managed that. She said 346 would be doing the confidence chamber this week. I wonder how that went! and she is complaining about frizzy hair and no tweezers! LOL
Trav'sMom: Better not disclose his last name on here...he is not processed out yet, right? Better stick with the rules for now on no last names!
So glad that division is doing so well and thanks for posting this for the others. I bet you can't wait to see how well your son irons when he gets home!
That's wonderful news Trav's mom!! Go 349!!!
I thought you all would like to hear this - In a letter from Travis, he wrote that his division (349) has earned all 3 flags...Inspection, Athletic, and Learning! They were working on the 4th flag (Drill flag) next.
I guess it is safe to say now...my son was the Iron man...(as in Ironing board) He mentioned Yeoman in one of his letters...Is it safe to say his last name now?
Anyway, great job to the division!
