TravsMom: Good news is he will be receiving pay during this processing time....and more good news is that you will have him in your arms soon!
Hang in there!
italianmom: I looked in the MEMBERS photo box (above and to the right...hit "VIEW ALL") and there were a couple of ladies in 345. But remember, 346 ladies can help you too since these 2 divisions train together. So keep in touch with them!
And you are so so right about those not having family members in the military not understanding. They try to understand and some even compare them leaving for bootcamp to a child leaving for college (so very different! Contact with them at college, but not so in bootcamp). But all of the ladies on here totally are with you on that....so glad that you have found this group!
Italian mom-
He said it would take 2 -3 weeks for processing. He will call and let me know more soon...I have my GPS ready!
Thanks Totopogo, exactly how i feel, I hope I/we all get letters today and hope my son gives me more info rather than talking about his gf.... whom he has no idea could give too craps about him which is going to be a huge dissapointment to him as its also killing me, as if he dont have enough i have to not tell him the truth because hes going thru enough. so many things going on just so sad cant wait till oct. 26th, to see him yet have to say bye again very difficult. people just dont understand unless there child is serving the country the sacrafices our children and the families endore. still looking for someone who has a child in his division i dont understand, I know 09/345 is brotherhood with 346 but anyone in 345????
Good morning everyone. Today should be a great day for letters so let the stalking begin :-) Since Monday was a holiday those who normally get them on Wednesdays may get theirs today. I hope you all have a wonderful day.
Italian Mom, my son is in Division 346, the brother recruit to your son's division (345). I have not gotten any phone calls, but have received a letter each week after his third week. I know how you feel; actually, I think all of the Moms know how you feel. Helpless. And mourning (as you said in one of your first posts), for me, was a fitting term to describe how I felt and still feel. I am mourning the loss of his childhood, and I cry at the most random times at the most ridiculous things. Those first weeks of not hearing anything, not knowing how it was going, was very tough. But, from what he writes, the divisions are doing well (with some rough spots of course!) and I am sure that all of our recruits are amped about officially becoming sailors soon. I think this site will help you to cope until then.
Good Morning! Two weeks from today we will be in Great Lakes and then one more day to see our Recruit! I can't wait. Let's hope these weeks go by quickly.
Good Morning All!
italianmom: Awww....no worries. No one is scolding you....sorry it appeared that way. There are rules on NavyforMoms that we N4Moms veterans try and remind all about....they are for everyone's benefit. But....we all were where you are...trying to figure out bootcamp, this site, and missing our SRs.
So no worries...all of the N4Moms veterans on here have your best interest at heart, believe me. We have all been where you are now and remember...and want to help. SO please post whenever you like --- don't hold back.
Just a reminder to all, no last names are allowed on this site...that is security from the Navy. I know....FB allows last names....but there is trouble over there sometimes because of it. N4Moms (started by the Navy, by the way, for you all!) decided they don't want SRs/sailors last names on here so please check your screen names and remember. You can use initials. You can also use first names, but we don't recommend it during bootcamp. The RDCs (their bosses!) sometimes read these social media pages and we like for this to be just a support group for you all...not directly connected to your SR who is working hard at bootcamp. So please don't post personal info here that your SR may have disclosed in a phone call or letter....other than training schedules (except BattleStations dates cannot be posted here)....how they are doing, etc. Personal feelings they may share with you about other SRs or their RDCs, or the Navy in general (if negative), should not be posted.
