Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME TO PIR 10/26/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Not sure if am suppose to post that or not, but wanted to give everyone a heads up. They had an old phone number for her that's why they didn't call first. Thought it was strange since he told me he already had his security clearance two weeks ago. Any insight?

Comment by fraser mom ship 12 div 347 on October 10, 2012 at 11:05am: I booked our room yesterday!!!! It's getting close now! I haven't received any letters this week.... :( I presume its because of hell week. We are staying at Homewood Suites and driving to GL.

Thank you for all of the great information about those who will stay in GL after PIR. Very helpful!!!!! Madeline will be staying, so now I know what to expect.

I am looking for some more information about the PACT program?

Trav's mom: very sorry for your dissappointment. You know what they say about one door closing.....tell him not to focus on the closed door but to keep his eyes out for open ones! Bless you and your family.

However, I've also been praying for God's will for my son's life first and foremost. Sometimes our plans get changed but The Lord always has a better plan for our lives then ours. I'm thinking your son has better things on the horizon. I hope your family has a wonderful homecoming with your son.

Kev'sMom: He said that It is going to take 2 - 3 weeks to process him out.

Congratulations to all your boys and girls, and wish the best for everyone! Just a reminder, bring layers of clothing, fleece jackets, or something warm! It is already getting really chilly here - we have had many nights in the low 30's...yuk!
