The first letter from my husband was the sadest thing i have ever read in my life! but every letter has been better! I completely understand though i cried when i got his letter because i got them the week after my daughters 2 Birthday! and he was torn up about missing it! When he had his call home a couple weeks ago he was teary cause he could hear our daughter crying for her daddy and saying "daddy home" i started crying too i cried for the next couple days over it but it has gotten better in the latest letter he talks about how he cant wait to see how much she has grown and to show us how much he has grown as a person... Hang in there and remember only 37 more days!!!

I know the sad letters can be very hard. My daughters first was so hard for me to read. The first sentance was I hate this, I cried myself to sleep last night. When I read that first sentance I started to cry and couldn't even continue to read for over an hour. My point is this. It gets better. Each letter she sent was happier than the last. By the end she loved bootcamp and her rdc's. So this too shall pass. It will get better and the time will pass much faster than you think. For know keep sending encouraging uplifting letters every day. Get close to your new friends on here because they really do understand. And look forward to meeting them and maybe I will get to meet you all too. Hopefully I will get to come with my daughter to PIR and we c,an all hang out at the meet and greet. And for those who asked about me bringing the ribbons to the meet and greet I plan to ail them just in case I don't get to come. o_O

KateG, it has got to tear you up getting a sad letter, but hopefully he was just having a bad day. That could color his perspective on the whole experience. Also, from my (limited) understanding, they try to break them down in the first 3 weeks or so, in which case negative feelings probably are very common. The good thing is that he feels close enough to you to vent and express his feelings. Don't lose heart. We are all here for you and I'm sure he is getting support too. :)

KateG, sorry for the sad letter. Maybe he was just in a bad place that moment and overall he is doing well. I'm sure that is the case! It has got to be hard, so much change and no one there that you REALY know. They must be bonding pretty well by now. Misery loves company. Now, I am going to run to the mail box. I just saw the mail truck go down my street...
