Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

lol, I think the rules for jewelry (after boot camp) are one ring on each hand. earrings have to be small studs and only one pair. A religious medallion can be worn with the dog tags but must be smaller than the dog tags. No other jewelry is allowed while in uniform. I am pretty sure that is what she told me.

I did a search online for it. It is silver and it is a crucifix. There are a lot of them online ranging from $14 to $100's. I got it for her going away party and she was allowed to wear it at boot camp as well because it was a religious medallion. Although one chief made her take it off because she didn't realize it was a crucifix. She is allowed to wear it now as well because it is a crucifix. I will look and see if I can find exactly where I got it. That was back in May. I have slept a little since then and my memory is not what it used to be. lol
