Ok ... how long did (does) it take for you - anyone - to receive your form letter? We got the box just a few days after he left, but as of today - two weeks later, no letter with graduation or mailing info (Although we've talked to his recruiter and have the basic info - just want to know if he's grad-n-go or not).

Mary- AO is aviation ordnanceman, so you were basically correct. My tiny lil girl will be handling ordnance. If someone had told me that a year ago I would have thought no way. Things sure can change a lot in a year. And thanks for the compliments. I think she beautiful too, But I think I am supposed to think that lol. Is your sailor in the band or choir or do you know yet?

Thanks Mary, we didn't expect him to have PIR until Nov 5th but he told his mom Oct 29th he is in division 353 but he has volunteered for special forces and has a test on Monday and if he gets in he will be moved to 800 division but I don't know if that means his PIR date can change or not. I am on here all the time. My daughter is in as well and had PIR July 23rd, she is now almost finished with A-school in Pensacola and I am the one who is making ribbons to wear to PIR for this PIR group and others as well. My daughter was in the 900's so I know more about the performing divisions than the other divisions.

hello everyone, Okay looks like this may be the PIR group for my daughter's fiance. I can't believe it is this soon but that is the info she got. He just left last Tuesday and he already got to make a call. The sad thing is she missed the call. And she wasn't even on duty, she was on the quarter deck and had the volume turned off. She wasn't expecting a call for 3 weeks, and definitely not less than a week. He is in one of the 300 divisions but may be changed to 800's because he volunteered for something else, maybe special forces, I am not sure. I will let you know what div he is in as soon as she calls me back.

God Bless America! And our special recruits that are willing to defend our freedom! I hope everyone has a peaceful Patriot Day, in honor of those that were lost on 9-11.

Joshua's Mom- If you get the ribbon orders to me by the time you have 3 weeks left you will have plenty of time. You can also go ahead and send a friend request and I will send you the info. I can go ahead and get your order and wait until 3 or 4 weeks left to make them just in case there are any changes. If there are changes I will fix the division number/change for free. For the NAVY lodge the room we had was non smoking but I am not sure if they all are or not.

Comment by Mom of Joshua, the MA on September 9, 2010 at 3:20pm
Thanks for all of the info, Lala! How much time do you need to make the ribbon(s)? We were fortunate enough to reserve one of the two queen with a kitchen, rooms! Do they allow smoking? (I think a call to the Lodge - again - is in order! lol) We don't smoke and don't want a room that's been smoked in! (Not to offend anyone - allergies are not favorable to it!)
