ranaeaw I am glad to hear that another mom is in tears everyday. I have tried so hard to keep from crying but it seems little things just start the water works going. very embarrasing at the grocery store!!!!!!!!. I have one son in the army, one in the air force and now my daughter in the navy. one would think I would be used to this but it is far worse with my daughter...

Well that explains the pants thing - lol - It was like he just undressed and stuffed it all in the box, like a typical kid. That won't be happening again I'm sure. I truly love all the support and comments made on this site. So glad I saw it advertised earlier this year. I don't know any other Navy moms personnally in my area, so this has been my sole support in the way of finding out any information. Thanks to you all!

ranaeaw, The pants are rolled up when they measure them for their new boots/tennies. Most of the moms in my group, PIR 10/1/10, said the same thing. Hadn't seen that question in a couple of weeks. Have a great day, now you will get the form letter in the next few days. Then a letter in week 2, call around week 3. We are here for you, we are "seasoned" moms now after 3 weeks, Haha. Have a great day.

lol, they roll the pants leg up to measure them for their new shoes and boots. :)

Got my box too yesterday - lol - kind of wonder why his pants were rolled up to the knees. Just waiting for the letter and address too. After a month of near tears every single day, I just smile now the last couple of days knowing that no news is good news as far as the recruits are concerned.

miasmommie- here is a pic of the red one you asked about and there is also black. You can get silver or gold letters on any of them.

Sobe is correct, I saw my daughter in pictures posted on facebook and by other moms on here. She was in the front right beside the mic singing with the choir and it wasn't even her PIR. It was so awesome to see her in her dress white uniform. I printed a copy of it and mailed it to her. She was shocked and couldn't believe I had a copy of it. Never underestimate the power of a N4M Mom lol.
