Lala, I am so sorry for your loss, and for her families loss. I hope Nathan finds strength in his family to get through BS21 tonight. I will say an extra prayer and light an extra candle for him tonight. Your extended PIR family is here for you!

Cheryl, thought I would jump in here. This is for the moms/gfs/families getting phone calls today and tomorrow. When your new Sailor calls, have a list of questions to ask by the phone. "Did the whole division pass? Are you tired? (that answer will either be "I am still hyped" or, "I could sleep for 3 days"). "Have you eaten, showered, etc.?" "Where will you be in your division (which row from left or right, how many back? etc.)". This part is very important- For PIR tell your new Sailor to stay where they are on the deck, you will come to them. Most of them will have time to find you in the stands and will head in your general direction but when you hear the words "NOW HEAR THIS, LIBERTY CALL, LIBERTY CALL" all heck breaks loose and it is shear pandemonium.
All of you going to PIR are in for a real treat. When those huge doors open and the divisions start marching in, hold onto your hat. It is the best part of missing them. They will have changed and have become a team, some will tear up just knowing you are there. Have a great time, the ceremony itself seemed to me to pass very quickly. If you are a people watcher and get there early, you will see a little bit of everything. Enjoy.

Well I got 1 hour and 50minutes of a powernap when my roommate called to see when I would be leaving! :( Well I am super exicted about leaving, but couldnt go back to sleep.
@ Polyanna: When my brother, and then even more so when Joe left I became determined to lose weight. I figured if they were going through all this physical training.. I could at least try to get back into shape. Well, I lost 15lbs. Then i kept hearing how people had a hard time sleeping on BS21 night so I decided to just stay up with Joe... finally went to sleep at 0830.. a mere 3 hours ago. :) Surprisingly i dont feel all that tired. I think i am running on adrenalin.. once i get that call I will probably crash.

cheryl: they have other things to take care of before they are able to call home. like cleaning or hae watch. something along those lines.. id recommend telling your sailor to stay where they are and yu go to them after the graduation ceremony. that is what im going to tell my husband when i get the call later today.. now i just have to hope i can find him in the crowd lol. :)

im anxiously waiting my call.. good thing im at work or id be bouncing off the walls lol

I can't wait to hear about all your calls today. Did I read that someone didn't get their call until early this morning?
Does anyone know how we find our sailors on Friday after graduation for liberty?
Does anyone know why they can't call for so long after BS is complete?
Yes, my mind is whirling like crazy!
