~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

CallitThisLand: Yep, the 4th training week is called "Hell Week" which freaks many SRs and ladies here out! But we have heard that it is just a busy/tiring week...lots going on with inspections and getting up earlier too, among other things they have to do.
Here is what one of our N4Moms veterans, Craig, (retired sailor himself), says about Hell Week on his NavyDEP site:
Alot of people think "Hell Week" is a untouched term used only for the SEAL/BUDS training. However, people fail to realize that "Hell Week" originated long before the SEALS ever came about. In fact, the term was used since the 1800's. I do think the SEAL/BUDS guys are very fond of the word and added to their own vocabulary just like college students, police officers, etc.

Wow, KB. I just posted on the 10/04 group to see if some of the ladies can share their sailors' experiences with possible delayed departures to A Schools.
Good Morning All !
21 DAYS!!!!
But all the civilians are back to work now.....
Got my letter today too. My SR said that unless govt does something he is only going to get paid til Dec 15. Also that last Friday's PIR group could not go on to their next destination due to no civilian staff to process them out. Also no new recruits were being processed in either. He too has been sick for 9 days. He said he's suffering from shin splints, knees clicking, and wrists hurting, but is pushing through it. On a happier note, he did sound excited in this letter that was dated Oct 1. He was in charge of a 6 man team during the mooring exercise and they finished first. He's looking forward to the firearms exercise (which I think was this week). Still awaiting for good news after that call on Tues.
