N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I did find it funny that my son was so happy diannep to be allowed to go to bed at 2000. I think being happy about it was a first in his life :). Thank you for your comment. It helps me understand my call. I hope everyone else receives their calls today. Congratulations to the new sailors and their families. I am so happy this is almost over.

The good news about the new sailors who completed BattleStations is that they get to hit their racks 2 hours earlier that night!  They are quite tired when they call...many sipping energy drinks, eating candy bars....they have been up since early the day before....the capping ceremony is quite special to them.  It is then that the RDCs let each know how proud they are of them....they are tired, happy, relieved, and maybe a little apprehensive of their future too....a bunch of emotions all at one time.  But trading that Recruit cap for their Navy cap....a very very special moment!

Good Morning All !

KB20WJ: I'm also sorry to hear that your son wasn't able to call.  As Sea Turtle said, my son was also very, very tired. No enthusiasim for what he had just accomplished. Said the cap ceremony was very emotional.  After BS, they ate, and he said the RDC's had them sit around and do little of nothing all day but hang around the compartment and shine shoes which didn't help keep them awake. Couldn't wait until 0800 to hit the rack and sleep.  I'm sure you will hear from him today.  Hang in there!  Congrats to all the new sailors and their families.

I am so sorry KB20WJ I thought they all called. He did mention they went to Recruit Heaven. I know the watch delayed the call but you wouldn't think it elimated their chance to make it. As we have already learned though you just never know with the military. Unfortunately my call was not so good my son was actually kind of crabby today and we could only talk for 20 min because his time ran out on his phone card. Honestly I would have preferred knowing he passed and talked to him tomorrow when he wasn't so tired and would be in a better mood. I'm hoping that is what happens for you. Congrats Navy Mom!!!!!!!!

Congrats to Div 415/416....hoping that those who didn't call today will call tomorrow.

Sea turle and Todd...I'm glad you both got to hear from your SRs today.  Alot of us with SRs in 415 didn't hear from them at all.  Hopefully we will hear tomorrow.  Hoping they all just wanted to shower and catch up on sleep.  My SR is also still sick with the "hack" so the rest would do him good. They should all be better once out of BC.  I'm proud of my son too, but wish I could talk to him.
