N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Todd If we put or info. together. I would think its more like 3/3. Because when I talked to my son on 9/20 Friday he said it was 2/2. Then when I talked to him on Thursday 9/26. He said it was 3/1.(Just like your son said.) He also said its hard to keep track so maybe we will get some input from other moms.

Comment by 503 808 Does anyone know what week and day Ship 03 div 416 is on today? I wanna say 3/4 but not a 100% sure.

My son is on Ship 03 Div 415 and when I spoke to him on 9/26, he said they were on 3/1 on that day or on Fri.  Can't recall which.  You may be right on

Yeah KatXMom! His phone was terrible and raspy too so I could barely make out what he said half the time. 5 minutes of race talking! Oh well! Of course we have our phones duct taped to us today :) At least I wont be the only one lol

@ KEB, my SRs call lasted all of 1 minute and 44 seconds. He too said he would probably get to call "tomorrow". I will keep my fingers crossed today. For just in case. Though he spoke fast and covered a lot in that short time lol
Comment by KEB on September 30, 2013 at 9:02am

My SR said last night that he thinks tomorrow they're getting calls again... he only had like a 4 minute call since he said everyone took so long... some of the guys in the back have to wait for someone to finish before they get to call and sometimes they only leave a minute or two for other sailors. It sucks, but whatever. Anyway he said quickly before he was rushed off "I think we're getting calls tomorrow, I think I get to call you again tomorrow" Soooo ship 9 Div 417, keep a lookout :)

Thank you diannepis there away of finding out? a side from hearing it from our SR?

Emily:  Just remember....calls are so totally random....scheduled ones can get cancelled, surprise ones can come, etc.  So just be ready at any time.

I think it is more like 3-1 or 3-2 for your division, 503 808.

Good Morning All !

Thank you CatMom for the heads up on the  radio silence.

Last pm when my sr called, I put him on speaker so we could all talk. I thought he said we are calling again next week. When we got off the phone my husband said he stated that he would not be calling again for 2 weeks. :( I was so disappointed, I cried!! It was so nice to hear from him twice this week!!

Friends,

Your SRs are going into the "radio silence" mode where pretty much the only contact you will have is their weekly letters.  They are entering the intense and busy part of their training.  They will be tested on their barracks, uniforms, marching, and how well they finally pull together.  They can earn reward flags to hold proudly in front of their divisions at PIR.  At the end and right before they start going into Battlestations, they may be allowed a call if they are doing well as a division.  This is in addition to their "I'm a Sailor" call, so rest easy everyone, this phase is part of the home stretch!!  Keep writing those letters!!
