OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

ccars - Please tell you son thank you from our family for his willingness to serve our country. The saying, 'when God closes a door, he opens a window' came to mind when reading this... Your faith in knowing that His plan is in place is comforting and inspiring.... God Bless you all - and a bright future for your son is on the horizon!

sheilaMom:  Welcome!

There won't be time for some big parties for the sailors as many will only have PIR day with you before heading to A School the next day....or....those moving over to GL A School base will do so right after PIR which takes a few hours.  They then would have some liberty with you that day....and daytime liberty through the weekend (they have to be back at night).  They may miss some liberty time for "watches."

But I'm sure each family will be celebrating big time with their new sailors!

Hello! My son is Ship 02 Div 951. His graduation date is on Nov 2nd 2012. Is anyone going for their sons? Is anyone planning a big party of some sort for all the sailors? My son will be going to Texas the day after. Is anyone else' son going to Texas also? I would like to talk to some of the parents who are so we can just talk and share about our Sailor. God Bless to our Sailor.

Comment by JoMomma on October 4, 2012 at 8:14pm

No, but we are from Eugene, OR and have a son in ship 9, div 356. Our boys probably flew out together from Portland on Sept. 5.
