Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME TO PIR 11/02/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Get out of the house and as hard as I know it is walk away from the computer. You need vitamin D :-) As for me, we are having another huge Sale today, definitely not fun but it will help me make the money I need to go see my Sailor this coming weekend :-) YAY, I am super excited!!! Comment by diannep on September 21, 2012 at 5:05pm: turtle: Keep the letter in a safe place. There is a password in there that you will need right before PIR to download the gate pass. You don't need the actual letter to get into PIR.

A Couple of weeks before PIR your SR will have the opportunity to add or change the names on the list. You do not have to do anything on your end except make sure your SR knows who is coming.

He said they did not have much time to write and that there Div was having a hard time! I know your son is in the brother Div of my son's! He was hoping that they could figure it out by the end of this week! So prayers to you in maybe getting a letter today or maybe by the beginning of next week!
