OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Lala, Oh, I'm sorry that was my mistake, I misread your post.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on September 17, 2012 at 2:09pm

No recruiters don't have access to the password. In my post I said to ask the recruit for it not the recruiter and to do that she will need to write her recruit a letter. Sorry if there was some confusion. :-)

Comment by Betsy, mom of Stennis sailor on September 17, 2012 at 12:40pm

Lala, do recruiters have access to the pw for the gate pass?  I could very well be wrong, but I always thought that you could only get that from your SR?

turlesgabba, We do have suggestions for hotels based on good experiences of people who have gone before and some of these are the Residence Inn, Navy Lodge, Ramada and Spring hill Suites, as well as others.  Off course you can decide which one will work for your family based on your own needs.  Some hotels offer suites with kitchens, some are pet friendly and others offer free breakfast in the morning.  There is also a shuttle to RTC on the morning of graduation at some of the hotels as well (usually the cost is $3 each way).  If you don't receive your letter, you can contact the Public Affairs Office for times, directions, etc for graduation. Here is that number,

Tim's Dad, Welcome!  We love having dads on here too.  Letters may take a few weeks to arrive, as each division does train their own mail person and that does take some time.

Sonya, It is highly likely that some family members on here may have received calls because their SR may have needed additional information for their security clearances.  At this point, that is usually why some will get a call, while others don't get one.

turtlesgabba, ((Hugs))  to you.  Yes your  form letter will have info about graduation, such as that most important password for your gate pass to get onto RTC.  It will also have time of graduation, hotels suggestions, etc.  as well as his mailing address for RTC.  Sometimes it does take a little longer to get to you, so I would give it a couple more days.
