OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Interview with injured sailor Brett's wife.  Please continue to pray.  Thanks!

BattleStations is done by division with their brother division (sometimes 2 sets go the same night...sometimes a set with the 800 or 900 division) .  So they are given the caps by division....The RDCs in their division present the caps.  They then as a group take off their RECRUIT caps and put on their NAVY caps.

Here's a pik of a capping ceremony.  RDCs are in the front:

This Adding Guests to another Recruits Access List - Against RTC Policy has been addressed as well on RTC FB and so I made a DISCUSSION for it in FORUMS on the site.

That's a direct link to the post up above.

Ladies, there is chat in the PIR 10/26 group that RTC is no longer allowing extras in for PIR.  This is a new policy...and very sad too.  Their group only has 7 divisions...so there would be plenty of space.  Unfortunately, most new sailors don't have family/friends there at PIR...understandable that not all can go.  Because of that, there are spaces for others.

Anyway, several members of that PIR group called the Public Affairs Office today and were told that the new policy is that if you aren't on the list, you cannot get in.

Having said that, please consider bringing your extras to visit with your sailor after PIR...and be sure to order the PIR DVD ($29) in the NEX afterwards if your sailor didn't already order it.

This is the link to the TV interview on Friday with Brett's brother/father.  Please keep praying...he is a miracle, for sure, but still critical--new battles for him each day (still sedated)....God is GOOD and is surrounding them with His love.  Thanks so much, ladies.

Yes you can, Navymom.  With a small bottle of the cleanser.  Label the outside of the box/envelope "contacts".  He can't wear them until PIR so will have to put them away until then, but can have them.

Does anyone know if I can send my son his contacts for PIR?

Comment by diannep on October 21, 2012 at 2:09pm

Thanks so much, momof3, for the offer!
