~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Good morning everyone, I am finally back after not being able to use this site for at least a couple weeks. I still can't get on from my tablet but I have a brand new laptop and even though I am on vacation this week I am finding time for all of you :) In case you don't know me I am one of the veteran moms who stuck around after my Sailor had PIR more than 4 years ago to help you all get through the boot camp experience. I am also the mom who makes the ribbons for PIR that you see in my profile picture. If you have any questions or concerns please let me or one of the others like me know. You can also send me a friend request if you like. Many of you may already know me because I am also an admin for the original facebook PIR groups. If you are in that group please be sure and come to this page daily if possible. There are members here who just don't do facebook and there are members on facebook that don't use this site. So, to be able to connect with as many people as possible try and be active in both :) Also, don't limit yourself to meeting just those from the same division. Once boot camp is over your sailors will be heading to A-school with others from all the different divisions and you may know some of their moms/families as well. I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend :)
Also, If you are going to the Meet and Greet please be sure and find me and a couple other admins from the facebook group. We are going to be there and can't wait to meet you all. This will be the first meet and greet we have attended since our own sailors had PIR and it is going to be so much.
Good Morning!
20 days left!
Hello All!
"Lord, You establish peace for us;
all that we have accomplished
You have done for us."
Isaiah 26:12
Totally understand, Joeysmom. You can meet up with the ladies at PIR. You all will sit in division sections, unless you have Honor Recruits, where there is a special seating area for those families! Again, ask any questions you may have re: PIR, the weekend, etc on here and we will try to answer for you!
Good Afternoon Everyone! Have a great weekend!
Thanks Diannep. I've pretty much read everything that I can on this site. I'm just a little nervous about not making it there on time and missing the PIR. I think it was more of a nightmare during the 1st week after my son left which has left me with a little uneasiness. We don't land until 18:45 on Thursday evening and it was going to be at least $300 difference for an earlier departure time.
Happy Friday!!
"The Lord is good to all;
He has compassion
on all He has made."
Psalm 145:9
Good Morning!
Hello Friends!
"Cast all your anxiety on Him
because He cares for you."
I Peter 5:7
BearsMom,
The Meet & Greet is put on by Sarge on the Thursday evening before PIR. He provides a free meal and lots of information on PIR and what to do in the Chicago area. He also operates a taxi/shuttle service that will take you to and from PIR for $3.00 each way. He also provides a package deal for transport from and back to the airport you flew in on. Free ride to PIR (but $3.00 back to your hotel per person).
The Baskets that people are voluntarily putting together are to be auctioned off at the Meet & Greet through a raffle drawing. It helps raise money to help Sarge and his wife since they put on these Meets & Greets every single week throughout the year, which is probably at least 50 per year. If you'd like to donate a basket, pop into the Discussion group to let Christie know~~ Thanks!
