OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good morning all. Still anxious about receiving our first letter. Real soon I hope.

My middle son just called and said he was coming over after work to help with yard work (that my SR always did) and would I make baked Ziti so we could have dinner together, that is one of my SR's favorites, I, like an idiot, started to cry.  Trying so hard not to as I promised him I would be fine and wouldn't cry, I'll keep trying

Anndrya...yeah, then totally worth waiting another week. I hope you get your phone call this week to save you the trouble! Betsy, thanks! :) Sorry, but I just can't bare to shut my phone off all day at work :( The awful feeling of missing another call would kill me. I had to speak up. Lullovesjosh....same....that's how I missed his first call, i had it on SILENT! LOL....never again!

My SR daughter had her teeth cleaned and she didn't have any pulled and still has her wisdom's too?
Comment by Betsy, mom of Stennis sailor on October 1, 2012 at 12:32pm

Juliette, you go girl!  That's the way to stand your ground.

Through it seems as though you will never get through another day without hearing from them, you are strong Navy ladies and you can do this!  Stay strong!  You are an elite group of moms/wives/gf's and you are all so lucky to have each other to support and help you through the rough days.

Bocaestupida, those VM's are so precious, aren't they?

When they get to boot camp and are going through the medical and dental process, I'm sure that the doctors/dentists don't have a list of who is going full time and who is going reserves, when they see them, lol.   I would expect that all SR's are treated exactly the same when they get there and that would include getting teeth pulled.  They usually are just fine a day or two afterwards, as they are put on light duty for a day or two.  Normally they will go right back to their training with no problems at all.

Juliette, that is so funny!!! See I'm going to be a counselor so if I'm in a one on one meeting with a client I CAN NOT answer my phone. So it's to risky!
Comment by Juliette on October 1, 2012 at 12:25pm

Boca, I have my phone glued to me now too lol. After I mistakenly missed that first call I take it with me everywhere - including the bathroom lol. I totally get it! haha.

It is great to see this page so active and to see you guys are forming bonds and making friends. :-)

Thanks so much to all the Moms on this site you care about all of our Sailors and take the time to protect them and to help their families through the bootcamp experience. You are greatly loved <3

Haha I have my phone glued to me, which is totally not my style.  Ironically enough, I have been listening to old VMs from my hubby, most of which are yelling at me because I never answer my phone!  I promise, I'll answer it now, just CALL!

Comment by Juliette on October 1, 2012 at 11:48am

That's dedication Anndrya lol! But I don't blame you. We had this meeting at work the other week, which was a renewal of rules and regulations for work - and one of them was that our cell phones had to be OFF and put away. I had to stand up and make a statement that my phone isn't going anywhere, nor is it going off....the most comical was when they tried to tell me to tell him to call our office line. I felt like saying..."um, hello - we talk via snail mail - by the time he gets that info he'll be graduating"...ugh. Needless to say, my phone is on and next to me lol. Sorry, his well being is more important than WORK lol.
