WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Ur not alone Juliette. I know exactly how u feel! I'm driving myself crazy! It seems like it only gets harder :( let's just hope we get our calls this week. I was suppose to start my internship for school this week but I'm starting a week late because I don't want to risk being there when he calls and not being able to answer!
Comment by Juliette on October 1, 2012 at 11:35am

Anndrya, that's good news....I'll have to see tonight if my fiance's came through - and karen, i know - it just seems like this is getting worse, rather than better...although i know we're already in our 4th week. It's just frustrating.

Comment by karens (alumni ship 13-Div 366) on October 1, 2012 at 11:32am

Juliette, I don't think that is selfishness, I think we all just want to know how they are, I know this is harder on them than us, but this is the hardest thing I've ever done as a Mom including what you are aware of that I went thru with my oldest.  I just want to hear my kids voice!

Comment by Juliette on October 1, 2012 at 11:27am

I think my impatience and my antsy-ness is starting to settle in. I missed the first phone call, so after almost 20 some days of no contact I'm just getting anxious....my selfishness is coming through and i just want to get a CALL! :(

He got his first check!! Did anyone else's SRs come through?
Comment by Juliette on October 1, 2012 at 11:25am

Boca...yeah it's something to think about! My friend's bf who just graduated was reserves as well, and she had told me he had 2 teeth pulled, and he had NO clue why they were doing it lol. He found out like the day of! And I believe it's usually towards the end of week 2 that they pull them - so we're heading into week 3 of them training....which is week 4 to us, and this is usually the week we MAY get a call....and now all i worry is if we may miss it. UGH....

Comment by karens (alumni ship 13-Div 366) on October 1, 2012 at 11:19am

It makes sense to me that if you are reserves they could hold off and tell you to take care of it after A school, but what I think is common sense has nothing to do with Navy Regulations so who knows.

Comment by Juliette on October 1, 2012 at 11:15am

well my fiance is reserves as well, he's not going to be active - nonetheless, always a risk of being deployed no matter what so who knows....guess i'll see what happens...

Comment by Bocaestupida *Ship 14 Div 367* on October 1, 2012 at 11:14am

Ugh, I never even thought of that...I honestly have no idea if my hubby still has his wisdom teeth!  He's never complained about them so who knows...that would suck to be the reason we didn't get a phone call.  Mine is reserves too, so hopefully that gets them out of the pain??

Comment by karens (alumni ship 13-Div 366) on October 1, 2012 at 11:11am

Juliette, maybe because he is reserves, that gets treated differently, someone on here probably knows an answer to that.  But here's hoping.
