Boca: I bet the letters have reached him. They do their very best to get them there. Try not to worry! RTC has its own small post office so they are used to incorrect addresses on base.
Call or text Sarge and ask him about his cost from Midway to your hotel:
847-212-0246
He is very good about getting back with you. However, today is a PIR so he may be busy today, but will get back to you!
Some people do that, msmexxib. But you need to figure in the cost of to/from the airport (I assume with Sarge's transportation service) and see if it is still cheaper to rent in GL rather than renting in Chicago.
Good morning all!
Mazzy - Sorry..... I meant to have said Good luck to you and your fiance.
Sarge only charges $100 roundtrip from Midway to the base? or to your hotel? I am thinking that renting a car in GL would be easier than renting one from the airport and having to drive the 65+ miles to the hotel. Any thoughts on that? Anyone coming out from California? We are staying until Sunday as well.
The ship and division are on there correctly, it was just those two transposed numbers. I sent the bulk of them on Saturday, so I am hoping and praying that they figured out what I meant and they made it to him. Even if they send them back to me, at least I can fix them and send them out again. Our daughter drew him pictures every day and I am also scared that they would be lost...I am furiously writing him a letter now explaining what happened and giving him a recap (as much as I can remember) of all the letters I sent. Darn my stupid number dyslexia! :(
He will get the letters eventually as long as you have his division and ship number on them. If they cant match things up they will be returned, but I think they will figure out the wrong address part as long as it makes it to the RTC mail room.
Mazzy - She's being transferred to medical for rest & treatment. Other SRs have been admitted for stress fractures before and others will follow. As long as they believe she can heal and serve, she will stay. Some have been delayed in their training for months. They will not separate her unless they feel she cannot serve. At that time she will be given a discharge rating. I'm sure that veteran mom's here that have been through similar experiences will share their experiences. Join Ship 4 and you will meet other mom's going through the same. Good luck to you and your daughter. I'm so sorry this happened.
OK, I need some help from the veteran members, please. I was just rereading my husband's form letter and realized that somehow I copied his address down wrong when I was writing it the first time (3140 instead of 3410 Sailor Drive) and I must have sent 9 letters like that! I feel completely stupid and sick to my stomach that he is going to think I haven't been writing to him! Can anyone please tell me how bad this is going to be?? Will these letters ever make it to him??
Hello all, sorry if I've already posted this. I seem to be fighting with my computer. My Husband is Ship 14 Div 367. I got my first letter yesterday and I was soo excited. Even though it was short and rather bleak (It started "Dear Wife" and ended "Tomorrow we swim.") It was so nice to hear from him. Is anyone headed to Mississippi for A school? Thats where we're going.
