N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I received a letter from my son in today's mail! I am so happy! Reservations are set for PIR at the Navy Lodge. I cannot wait to get a phone call too!

Meant to say also that the last 4 hotels I mentioned are close to Sarge's MeetandGreet held for you the night before PIR.  There is also a large Walmart there with several restaurants around.

Texasmom:  There should be more phone calls coming before the I'm a Sailor call, but it varies between divisions.  Some may call more than others.  Keep the phone close at all times!

Hotels recommended on here are:

Navy Lodge (book in your SR's name)....Springhill Suites, Residence Inn, Courtyard, Holiday Inn Express....these last 4 are close together....call them directly and ask for the Navy Graduation discount.  You can only get this by calling the hotel directly.  Navy Lodge is about a mile from RTC....not walkable though....no sidewalks.  But close.  Good prices there....simple accommodations but friendly staff and nice environment.

Finally, booked my travel plans! My husband and I are getting excited. Still waiting on personal letter from my son. Ship 14 Div 010. My husband, son and I will be attending. My younger son which is 15 took it really hard when my son departed to boot camp. Since I have 3 other kids. It was a hard decision on whom to take with my hubby and I. We believe we made a great decision bringing my younger son to witness an incredible life event!

I have made all my travel arrangements already. We are staying at the Navy Lodge.
I can't wait to receive a hand written letter! I just keep telling myself that no news is good news. But it's hard.

HI all my son is in Div 004 and I received his hand written letter today.  He did say he will be calling on 10/3/15 and the letters I send are helping him stay motivated.
