N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Destiny'sMom:  They will not deliver a note to the entire division...however, you can address it to your SR and ask that your SR pass it around to everyone. In the actual letter part, you can address it to the entire division, but the envelope needs to be addressed to your SR.

You also can write an extra letter and put it in the envelope to your SR and ask that your SR give it to someone who is not receiving mail.  Sadly, many SRs get no mail and they live for it.  Anyone can do this and make a SR very happy!  Just include one extra letter to another SR in each letter to your own SR!

I love this! I really needed this! My son's job will be airmen. I really don't know what all that will in tell and he really didn't want to tell momma. I'm sure I won't worry! But he did tell dad all about it. Does everyone already have rooms for graduation? If so where would be a good place to stay?

I'm new here and still trying to figure it all out. My son is ship 12 div 005. He left for boot camp on 9/16. I got his box 9/21 and the form letter 9/26. I've written a letter everyday and am just waiting to get something back from him.

I've heard that since my sons A school is in Great Lakes, that he may have liberty most of the weekend. Is that true?
Comment by LIB on September 29, 2015 at 8:52pm
My son is staying in Great Lakes for his A school. He is signed up as an IC.

do you ladies think it would be okay to send like a letter or note of encouragement to their entire division? Like one card addressed to the team.  I have a huge family so i had each one write a quick note and i mailed them individually over the past 2 days(25 letters).  Then I thought what about those that might need the additional encouragement also.  Maybe writing to the 'TEAM' would help those that need it. Would that be allowed? addressing it to that specific ship/div? just a thought.
