For those of you that haven't gotten calls...I haven't either!!! I've had my cell forwarded from my home #, had it with me and on 24/7!!! No letter/no call...I'm getting impatient! :(
Hi kkcs46,
We did get the calls on Saturday but our son had a cold too. Must be going around their division. He is also Ship 13, Div. 007. He said the same thing about letters. I have already sent 3 and he hadn't received any as of Sat. I sent another one today with a couple photos and a calling card. Hopefully he will get a letter or so everyday or two. Where is your son off to after PIR?
We got a call from our son today at 11am. He has a cold so couldn't call on Saturday. He said letters really help the time go by. Food is ok. He has to have his wisdom teeth removed. There is a lot of yelling. ( I think we told him that :) ). Overall sounded good. He is Ship 13 Division 007
Hello All!
"The Lord is near to all who call on Him,
to all who call on Him in truth."
Psalm 145:18
Good Morning!
Cody's Proud Navy Momma, I am in the same boat as you. We haven't heard from our daughter either. She's also in Div 006.
You do not need military ID for Navy Lodge....you book in your SR's name and he/she will have to stop by the front desk sometime after PIR just to confirm. You get to stay there courtesy of your new sailor! :-)
jaimedgg I feel for you, my SR's birthday is this Friday and it will be the first one that I'm not able to celebrate with her. I have been quite emotional this past few days and found myself crying randomly.
Then my daughter was able to call this morning doing security clearance stuff and I missed the call again :( I felt so bad, she left a voicemail said she was doing good. I was working and have to have phone off.
Codys Proud Navy Momma, yep we booked Thursday thru Sunday. And when I spoke to them I tried to see if my brother who was in service, but is now inactive could use his id, but they said no I thought, unless the person that booked us was wrong, I thought she mentioned having to be active duty but I'm not real sure :/ We will be driving about 9 hours to get to Chicago. The shuttle is a great price, I was just wondering how often they go back and forth though. But i'm not sure what parking is like or if you can even drive over or if there is parking to go to the area they are at? I didn't realize they could watch from the Navy Lodge, my mom and dad wanted to go, so we are still seeing if we can make that happen.
