Ship 3 / Div 006 Here :)
To those with SR in Ship 11, Div 003--Just got the first letter from my girl. The address she gave in it has a different +4 zip than the one in the form letter. Has anyone else gotten that? Don't know if it is a change or mistake, so not sure which one to use.
hello any hotel recommendation with good amenities as indoor pool and free bf ?
Welcome back, Miss Nell! I thought your name looked familiar before I read your post!
Ramada is the only hotel we know of with free shuttle, but we have heard of problems with it....long wait times, leaves later, etc. Please check out TripAdvisor reviews for Ramada before considering booking there.....
Good Morning!
Welcome back, Miss Nell!
littleman,
It would be easier to take the Metro train to Chicago. The station is right by RTC. Allow yourself plenty of time to get back to RTC as your Sailor MUST NOT be late getting back to the barracks~~
zacksmom,
Actually, PIR shuttle service averages $3.00 per person each way. Only 1 place that I know of claims to have a free shuttle. The Navy Lodge just started offering a PIR shuttle for $2.00 roundtrip for their guests~~
Renting a car is always going to be the most cost effective as you will need it to take your Sailor to eat and maybe some other place plus the airport to meet your Sailor flying out to A school. For those staying at A school in Great Lakes, you will need it the whole weekend! I opted to leave my rental car at the hotel and take Sarge's shuttle to PIR just to make it easier on myself!
Last I was aware, Sarge's rate for just a roundtrip from your airport to your hotel and back plus a free one way ride to PIR was $99 from O'Hare and $157 from Midway.
littleman,
That's an awesome price for 4 roundtrip tickets!! Must be a sale!! I paid $343 per ticket fom Califonia last year~~
Hello everyone..I know my name has ship 09/Div 405...I went through boot camp with my son last year and now I'm going through it with my nephew...Chicago here I come again!
Received my first letter from my son today. It was so nice to see his hand writing. He said everything is going good. He says that he has learned alot and can't wait for PIR. So proud of him!!
