Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 007 and 008

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi there,  My son is on there as well. No letters today hoping tomorrow we will hear from them. Cara

Hi!  Our son is in Ship 13, Div 007, and we're from CA.  We can't make it to PIR, so we'll be up at the crack of dawn to see it streamed live!

Monkey's family, My son is in the same ship/div as yours.  We are also from CA.  We are going to PIR. What is your son's name? There is already one boy whose family can't make it that is joining us after PIR for the rest of the day maybe your son can join us too.  I am expecting a call from my son on Tuesday I will ask him. Maybe it is your son that is already joining us.

Proudnavymom... thank you so much for your generous offer! It's so reaffirming to see the support and love shared here! Our son's mom (I'm the "wicked" but loving step-mom) is going to PIR, so he thankfully won't be alone! Now I just have to figure out how to see the live stream before next Friday so we don't miss a second of this most important day!

Has anyone heard if Div 007 has pulled their team together yet? Are they staying out of trouble now? Any idea why they've been having difficulty? We've gotten 5 letters and only one phone call since he's using his time mostly for his girlfriend, which I totally understand... but we miss him too darnit! (Ok... foot stomping is done now... thanks for letting me get that out... lol).

We know he's passed all his tests and qualified as a rescue swimmer 2, but we know that Battle Stations is a division "final". He was quite proud of his dress blues (direct quote... "damn, I look good!"... lol)... but we haven't heard from him since 10/21 (pout).

From what he's said so far, and what I've read, it seems like he'll be shipped out to SC for Nuke A school probably on Saturday, and he's hoping to be home for some portion of the Christmas holidays... his girlfriend is hoping to fly out to SC for 2 weeks before Christmas, but I'm not sure how realistic it is for him to have liberty in those first couple of weeks at A school. Anyone have any input to share?

If I could figure out all this posting and different discussions any easier from my phone... I'd be on here all night long probably. Thank you, everyone, for putting up with my lengthy post and quest for more information!

Monkey'sFamily, I am sure you are not the wicked step mother. I get it though. My ex-husband (also my son's ex step father we were only married 2 years) Is going with me and my son's girlfriend.  His real father has not written him or anything.  He is too jealous of the ex step father.

Also, my son only mentioned once that 007 was having a couple problems he didn't sound urgent about it though. His girlfriend got a call last week about the names lists and he said he will be making the I am a sailor call next week so it sounds like they got it worked.

The web address for the live feed is http://navylive.dodlive.mil/  starts at 8:45 am central time.

I have sent a request to join the facebook group but don't understand what look in the "other" folder means for the confirmation.

Hello families of div 007 and 008. My son is in div 007 and we are from the Pacific Islands known as the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan). My son was recruited from the Navy in the island of Guam (our neighboring island).

Hello!   Have you heard from your son?

Yes, he called Saturday morning. Received the form letter yesterday too. Waiting for the box.

Hi! Will you be going to PIR?

Azerin, my son left on 9/18. Not sure what you mean by push, but he did not mention anything about waiting a few more days for more recruits.

Yes, I am so excited! Are you?

I didn't look to see where you live before I commented. Not that I read that not getting the box yet for you would make sense. I thought maybe your son had left a week later, since I know that they waited to start week 1 training cause they lost some people. People who came in later would be push (meaning they would push them through).

I am excited, scared, anxious, proud, wondering, worrying....you name it. I made flight and hotel reservations yesterday, asked for the time off today, and so wanted a letter today. None came. He had told me before he left that he probably wouldn't write, but then told me Saturday that he would.
