WELCOME to PIR 11/16/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Comment by DebbiL on October 2, 2012 at 2:46pm

Still no mail from our SR... hoping for tomorrow!  Now I remember what it was like when I was a child waiting for Christmas!!  :)

Mike'sMom, you are welcome.

Victoria's mom, that is the correct address for ship 14.  All of the ship addresses are listed on the RTC website and here is that link.

http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp

Ladies, if you do not have the actual name of your SR's "ship", do not worry.  You do not have to put the name of the ship on their letters.  The most important things are to have your SR's full name, ship number, division number, street address, city, state and zip.  When my son was in BC, I had no idea what the name of his ship was and he received every single letter.

Got my hotel room booked!!! We are driving up so no need for flight, now hurry up and get here Nov. 15 so I can be on my way!!!!

Comment by DebbiL on October 2, 2012 at 1:12pm

Bestsy - That makes perfect sense.  I just assumed that they all arrived on the same day. When I think about it, having that many SRs all showing up together would be a logistical nightmare. That also explains why they say BC lasts between 8 & 9 weeks.  Thanks!

Mike'sMom, the time period for processing the SR's can continue on for a few days.  Therefore, those who may have arrived in the first day or so, will obviously send out their box/letter earlier than those who may have arrived on the 3rd or 4th day.  Even though they are all graduating on the same day, their arrival times at boot camp can vary for up to a few days.  Of course you also have to take in consideration the longer distances that some boxes/letters may have to travel as well.
