Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME to PIR 11/16/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hopefully you will hear today or tomorrow. Be checking FB accounts too as some are able to post on there before being allowed to make phone calls.

ImJoshsMom: Be sure to attend one of the MeetNGreets the night before PIR. They are listed at the top of this page, the link is under the yellow smiley faces. We N4Moms veterans highly recommend attending SARGE's. He has great info, good food (free, supplied with $$ out of his own pocket, donations accepted!), and has a transportation service for those not renting a car.
Betsy has a sailor! He is a new arrival on the Stennis....first deployment. I hope that your son was safe during the incident on the Stennis!

In 6 days my son graduates! I am so proud of him! I cant wait to see him! I wonder if anyone has heard of him as he is quite memorable! I do not get much communication so I do not know the names of anyone else on the ship with him.

I am nervous and excited all at the same time. I am in Ohio and will be leaving Thursday night with my sister and nephews to come to Great Lakes. I would like to meet other families and learn more about Navy life.
