Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME to PIR 11/16/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Bummer they're all sick - MY tolerance for ANYTHING plummets when I have a cold, so I can imagine how miserable and tired the SRs are. Our poor babies!

So hopefully it will get to him before he calls me. I am mailing a letter today to that effect to let him know the new number. :) Big smiles God is going to make it all right!!

I found out in the letter that he wrote last week. I did not get one today, I figured I would not because of the holiday. I am keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow.

I would call the hotel directly and let them know you are coming for PIR. They may put the reservation in your SRs name and ask you for his/her rate, but that is not a problem to do so.

I have never been so excited to see November hurry up and get here in my life!! lol.

Comment by Brittany on October 9, 2012 at 3:54pm: Gsdgirl- i know!! I got his formal letter last tuesday. He graduates 11/16--- hopefully we will hear soon. I booked my room already and looking at flights now! We have a 6 month old, so should be an interesting trip;-) cant wait!!
