for
~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I believe he may be able to return to RTC with the phone/laptop since he is on hold....but he will be able to tell you this during Liberty.
Oh, ok ProudMom. He will be marching with his division....and then will be on hold until he leaves for the Ceremonial Guard destination. Glad there are no waivers involved! He will have daytime Liberty with you through the weekend then (back each night). Just like the GL A School sailors.
Diannep he is not on hold. He changed programs/jobs. He will be going to DC with the Honor Guard. I remember there was a link which addressed those leaving for A school and those staying at Great Lakes PIR weekend. I only paid attention to the 'leaving for A school details' so now I feel a little lost as to what to expect this weekend; i.e. does he have to be back on Fri at 8p, can we pick him up Sat? Sun?, when can I give him his cell phone/lap top (we are scheduled to return home Sunday evening). Thanks for your help!
Ok, so it sounds like your sailors are on hold waiting for waivers? If so, you should be able to take them for Liberty through the weekend, just like the A School sailors. They also may be allowed to have their cellphones when they return to base since they are on hold....they will know this when you take them for Liberty.
DebraNavymom: I would cancel the hotel in the airport....he should come in with his division because he IS a sailor....so I don't believe that will affect that. But I don't understand what you mean by will he come in with HIS division or with the 900 division? Which one is he in?
I'm not 100 percent positive on this but I will see what info I can find out.
Proudmom: Why is your sailor not flying out until Wed? Is he on hold waiting to go to A school because there is no space there right now....or is he being evaluated for a medical condition, etc that may require a waiver?
Change of plans and my sailor is not flying out on Saturday. He will be staying at Great Lakes until Wednesday. I was prepared with the information regarding 'meeting your sailor at the airport" now I am lost. Can someone please send me helpful information for this new situation? Thank you!
Good Morning!
Those of you with Sailors heading to Pensacola, FL for A school, here's a very fun, active, and informative group for you to join!
*Correction to my post below....ooops! Be early to PIR on FRIDAY, not tomorrow! :-)
