N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hannah - Yes, they can, but they can't just run to the NEX to buy some. NEX trips are scheduled. Usually for the whole Division (at least from what we know.)

It doesn't hurt to send some :-)

Can they buy stamps at the NEX?

Shawna to find a blood drive click on the link and set-up an account/profile after which you are sent to a page where you input your zip code and how far you are willing to drive to donate (10,50,100 miles) along with the date you would like to donate and the search engine lists all drive in your local from that date forward. Good luck.

My recruit sounded upbeat and positive too. Glad you posted about the stamps...My next letter will include a bunch.

Also I was told by my recruit to PM the blood drive's Facebook page. So I clicked >>like and then sent a PM asking for more information on their facebook page.

Hope some of this help you with your questions. I also emailed Jeff Diffy with questions specific to what my recruit was told...that if my hubby and I donate before she donates we will have our picture taken with her or be able to meet with her. This I thought sounded too good to be true. No word back from anyone yet.

Hi to all!!  I received a call from my SR yesterday, and she was able to also call her Dad, who wasn't home at the time, and a friend.  She sounded really good.  She mentioned something about a blood drive also - did anyone find out if that's just for parents local to GL, or nation wide?

We also received 3 letters yesterday.  She said they can only send mail on Sundays, and that they were given 10 stamps at the begining, so she asked me to send her some stamps.
