for
~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

RTC Facebook is where any pictures of Recruits would be posted.
They are very random and they do not take requests. If you look back in the photos section you will see where they have taken random photos.
It's a "wait and see if it happens" situation. Not every TG/Divisions will be photographed during BC.
Nope, ship 12 div 17 still no call or letter, anyone have any info?
I thought somewhere on this site I heard that pictures (may be) taken during bootcamp. Some moms are lucky enough to find a glance of their sailor. All I see on Facebook (Navy RTC) site is graduation pictures. Is their a site that posts pictures during camp/pre graduation?
Ship 12 Division 17? Anybody??
ship 12 div 18.. still waiting for contact.. been keeping busy so that has been good. :)
Welcome to this group, Alex'sMom!
Hey guys, I've been sitting over in the 11/13 group because my son shipped on 9/22. I never received the form letter letting me know his ship and PIR date. I did get a letter from him today (my 1st communication 18 days after he arrived... grrr). His in Ship 03, Div 011 the USS Hopper. His PIR date is 11/20 so I guess I belong here in this group now :)
In his letter he said they were handing out ASMO's like crazy and so the date very well may change. One guy got ASMO'd for dropping his wallet. He said he group is really full so they are handing out ASMO's like candy to thin it out.
Oh, and he also said the Navy issued underwear suck LOL.
