Hello everyone and Congratulations to all your Sailors!! We just got home from our PIR 11/16.. It was wonderful, we went to Sarge's meet and greet and used the valuable information he provided, we were able to sit front row infront of our son's DIV! Also we only had one day with our Sailor, but we made the most of it, he wanted to eat at Chili's and we were there with many other families and their Sailors. As well, we went to Lake Bluff Beach, it was 5 minutes from the Navy Lodge. We took pictures at the Lake and it was beautiful (see my new profile pic). Also we stayed at the Navy Lodge and we had a suite. Their suites are new and all 6 of us were able to stay together with plenty of room and a kitchenette (when you call you need to press zero, because only this Navy Lodge has suites and you need to talk to their front desk). Have a wonderful time!!! HOOYAH!!!!
HOOYAH SailorMom! Wonderful! Enjoy!
Thank you for all the prayers....they've been answered....I AM able to go to PIR on Wednesday!! :-)
I am so blessed to have found NAVYformoms!!! Ya'll have been a wonderful wealth of information and love. I'm amazed. I look forward to meeting you!! :-)
CORRECTION: Meant to say that you "can't" post his last name on here....but can private message it.
Heather is from the previous PIR group (Friday's) so be sure to read her info below!
bayoukat: If you find that he passes tomorrow and will be at PIR, be sure to post on this page and in your discussion group to see if some of the ladies in that divison can give him a hug from you and also snap a pik of him to send to you! You can post his last name, but can ask that the ladies friend request/private message you for his name. The ladies on this site are great doing things like that! Hope you will get a visit with him in the not-too-distant future!
ItalianMom: Your daughter and you all should be able to spend some time with him at the airport Friday, but you will need to get out there in the wee hours of the morning since they are bussed early to wait for flights. He should have flight info by PIR and can tell you what time his flight actually leaves. The later in the day, the more time you have to spend with him. You can meet up with him in the USO at OHare....if leaving from Midway, he will need to meet you in front of security since the USO is beyond that. Then he can go with you to get gate passes from the airlines so you can get through security and wait at the gate with him until his flight leaves.
Pudsey: There is a discussion above in the Forum that discusses the different places to eat Thanksgiving dinner. Not sure if others are posting...haven't checked it lately...but take a look! MeetandGreets (3) are the night before PIR. Sarge's is the one we recommend---lots of info there. There is a MeetandGreet discussion above also so be sure to read through it.
Dillonsmom - Thank you for posting that.
It is so wonderful to have been able to use this site for the last 7 weeks and find such wonderful loving people. I talk about all of you all of the time with my neighbors. I appreciate each and everyone of you, and will alway cherish the friendship that I have made here. God bless each and everyone of you and our SRs. See you Tuesday pm.. I can not believe it is finally here. Tomorrow when I wake up I can check in for my flight - still have to wait till Tuesday AM to leave, but will be that much closer.
