Kelly, what a shame that Seasons of Long Grove felt that way. In that area, that's a good way to lose business.  Happy ya'll found a place to go that doesn't have those 'policies'.    Kings Wharf rocks!  :-) :-)

Comment by Kellyd on November 17, 2012 at 12:59pm
I just called to make Thanksgiving Dinner Reservations at Seasons of Long Grove. They want a credit card to hold the reservations which is fine but if you have to cancel you have to do so by Monday or there is a charge for canceling. I tried to explain that my son was graduating from boot camp and that not knowing his schedule for watch may cause us to cancel. She said she was sorry but that was their policy.
I did call King's Wharf and they said the same thing but when I explained to Mark the guy answering the phone he wrote a note beside our reservation explaining that I would call after I saw our son at PIR to check with his schedule and call back if I needed to cancel. He then thanked me for having a son who chose to serve and protect our Country. And that he looked forward to thanking my son.
Come Hell or high water we will be eating there.

SailorMom59- I will pray for you that everything works out.  I thought you had it all worked out?  Bummer.  Prayers to our SR's and can not wait for the call soon.  I pray to see you there

deboraho:  He will have to pass on Monday morning, I believe, in order to be at his PIR.  I would call the Public Affairs Office on late Monday morning/early afternoon to see what his status is.  847 688 2405

There are BattleStations on Monday night so if he passed, he would go with that group.  We are not positive that there are any on Tues night for the next PIR group....I felt sure there would be, but so far, no divisions have reported that date to me.

Hoping you get some info...I know it is so hard to be caught in "limbo" like this.  Did you ask on the FIT group if they can try the prone float more than M-W-F?  I know you can only do the run/pushups/situps on those days, but didn't know about the float--maybe more often for that???.  I know the FIT group was very quiet yesterday....wondering if the N4Moms veterans on there are away for the holiday week.  Hoping that someone like sammy, who is great on there, will be back on there answering questions soon.

mrehm:  They actually finish Battlestations the day before PIR many times....they actually start it the night before (12 hr drill).  They are done with it in the morning.

Good Morning!  Hope all have a good weekend!  Captains Cup this morning up in GL!  YEAH!
