WELCOME to PIR 11/21/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

KristineLynn: So will we, so I am hoping the call will come earlier in the day on the 19th. His younger brother is the only one flying a day later so he may get the call instead.

djp: thanks for your response, but I think we are gonna just wait it out...since it is soooo close to graduation. We want to be with her when we give her the news.

jenniferb: I think it depends on which division your SR is in.  Our last phone from our SR said that her next and only phone call would be on November 19th ;)

Hello Ladies!  Can't believe we're nearing the end.  Thank you LORD!  Diannep - you're going to get as many hugs as our SRs!!  Diannep - do you know what we can bring to our SRs after PIR? (for instance, cell phone, laptop, socks, underwear, clothing, sneakers)  If allowed, I'll pack that kind of stuff.  I didn't think they were allowed to have anything until well into A School.  Does anyone know when we will get the I'm A Sailor call?  Probably later next week right?  Everyone enjoy your day....we're almost there!

Its been two weeks now since I received a letter from my Sr. The last one was just a few sentences long. He told me he was very busy and didn't have a lot of free time but did say he loved me. Very disappointed today!

We had family member pass away and we went thru the Red Cross to get a message to our son.  It was 2 weeks into BC.  I was glad we did because he did get to call home.  We told them (Red Cross) that he was not to come home but just to get the message to him.  They would not tell him, they would only tell him that something has happenend in your family and they want to let you know.  Very Good about it.
